My Skincare Journey (Acne, Scarring, Pigmentation) - Tommy

At age 25, I had practically given up my dream of ever having clear skin. I hoped to one day get rid of my acne, but my scarring was so bad that I had accepted that I was probably stuck with it. However, on one unsuspecting Saturday afternoon, that would all start to change.

I had booked a facial with Misha because my skin was looking absolutely awful and I had to be on camera for a music video shoot in 2 weeks. I was breaking out everywhere and my skin was getting extremely irritated from me attempting to treat the acne myself.

I had tried various different skincare routines, from washing my face with just water, to switching to just washing once a day, to trying new toners and cleansers. I was spending a ridiculous amount of time reading about skin care online (shoutout to Reddit!) and spending an exorbitant amount of money on new products - but nothing was working.

The Beginning of my Journey

Finally, one day, I gave in and decided to book a facial, praying that an esthetician could save me. I was hoping after a few treatments, my skin would look just good enough to be on camera. I wasn’t expecting a complete 360; just a slight improvement so I wouldn’t have to be completely embarrassed to be on camera.

When I first came in, Misha gave me a consultation where she examined my skin and identified what was wrong with it. Despite how bad it was, she was confident that she could fix it.

She actually went as far as to promise me “perfect skin”; not just for a day or two, but for a lifetime. At first, given how bad my skin was, I was very skeptical. To be fair, it’s not every day that you meet an esthetician that makes such bold guarantees like that.

However, as she explained the process in which she’d use to treat skin, I began to feel more comfortable. I quickly realized how knowledgeable Misha is about skin and how experienced she is in treating it. I also realized how much she genuinely cares about her patients and their progress.

After a few sessions, my skepticism vanished completely - just like my acne! Through various extraction sessions (which were really gentle), peels, and rejuvenation treatments, my skin was looking better than it had in years.

The number of blackheads that Misha was able to remove from my face was incredible. My acne is cystic, which causes my blackheads to grow in clusters all over my face. After treatment though, my skin was smooth and all these bumps were gone.

I was also amazed by how much she was able to reduce my scarring and pigmentation. Before the treatment, my face literally looked like it had craters all over it. It feels so much smoother now.

The Skepticism!

From the beginning of this journey, Misha had warned me that my skin would “get worse, before it got better”. She had told me that the skin would be a bit dry and irritated following the first few treatments, but that this was completely normal.

Despite her warnings, throughout these sessions, my skepticism of Misha would return at times. When my skin would look red and flaky from the treatments Misha was giving me, I would sometimes ask myself, “Are these treatments really going to work”?

It was a rigorous process for 2 weeks receiving daily facials, but by the end of it, my skin was brand new. I almost couldn’t believe the results.

Going into treatment, I was very worried that Misha could potentially damage my skin more than it already was. However, she proved that she knew what she was doing the entire time. She also did a great job reassuring me every day that my skin was improving and headed in the right direction.

The Results

Now, after my treatment, I feel ready to shoot my next music video, as well as any future ones. For the first time in my adult life, I feel comfortable taking pictures and videos of my face close-up. It feels so unbelievably good to not have to hide my face anymore.

When you get treated by Misha Tuleva, you’re not just getting a facial; you’re going through a healing journey. She customizes every step of this journey to your individual needs and helps you maintain your skin even after you leave her office. She is MUCH more than just an esthetician. I cannot express how grateful I am to have met her.
